A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

The main purpose of this blog is to get down some of the ideas I have and get some feedback on those ideas! Also I wanted to use it as a means to discuss what I do day to day in my current contract role and my work as a VMUG Leader (Melbourne, Australia Chapter).

I’ve been toying with the idea of starting a blog for what seems like forever, but often decided that a combination of Paid / Voluntary Work and Family life were enough to keep me busy without committing to anything else. But something happened that has prompted me to re-evaluate this decision…

I’ve been awarded the VMware vExpert 2012 due to my work as a VMUG Leader, of which I am absolutely ecstatic about!

I’m currently working on a Data Centre refresh project which includes reviewing current compute/storage/networking infrastructure and looking toward future requirements and planning the next 5 years of IT for the business. As the evangelist for virtualisation in this organisation I’ve been involved in a number of game changers for the business including:

  1. Infrastructure consolidation/virtualisation
  2. Disaster Recovery/Business Continuity
  3. Operational Backup and Recovery in a Virtual world.

So there it is, please provide feedback and dialog, I’ve got some classic questions/problems to get through… Here goes!

One response to “A long time ago in a galaxy far, far away…

  1. Congratulations Craig on being named a 2012 vExpert and on the launch of your new blog!

    Cheers gs
